Lochside Bed & Breakfast

Bed & Breakfast

About

Angie and Mick Watts welcome you to Lochside Bed & Breakfast at Tigh-na-Cala, Carrick Castle on the Cowal Peninsula of Argyll, Scotland.  “Tigh-na-Cala” translates loosely from the Gaelic as “House by the Harbour”.

We are situated on the edge of the Cormonachan ancient woodland within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and the Argyll Forest Park, which provide access to many paths, cycle ways and walks over the hills including the Cowal Way, travelling through some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland.  Many of our guests use Tigh-na-Cala as a base for exploring further afield – as far as Stirling, Kilmartin Glen, Oban, Fort William and even Staffa and Skye. Guests may be attending world-renowned events held locally, such as the Cowal Highland Gathering.

Loch Goil is a sea loch connecting to the Firth of Clyde via Loch Long and offers safe boating, fishing and other water sport activities.  As there is access from Tigh-na-Cala to the shore it is suitable for guests with canoes/kayaks or small boats to launch their craft.
