Chase The Wild Goose Holiday Lodges, Benmore, by Dunoon, Argyll offer you comfortable, well equipped, authentic timber lodges sleeping 2 - 6, situated in a lovely woodland clearing close to the Holy Loch and Loch Eck within the Argyll Forest and part of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. This is the ideal base for relaxing in beautiful surroundings, for exploring the hills, glens and lochs of Cowal.
Enjoy a variety of outdoor pursuits, including walking the sunlit forest tracks and paths of the Argyll Forest, cycling & mountain biking at Glenbranter and along the still shores of Loch Eck, fishing the well stocked lochs and rivers of Eachaig & Massen, wildlife spotting - Red Squirrels, Red Deer and Roe Deer have been seen - and bird watching - Herons, Peregrines, Curlews, Sandpipers, Buzzards, Woodpeckers and Kingfishers, Dippers and Wagtails are local residents. For those a bit more adventurous why not try quad-biking, clay pigeon shooting or even frisbee tennis.
Explore the many coastal villages along Loch Fyne, Loch Long, the Kyles of Bute and the Clyde Estuary. Less able visitors will delight in the low level walks close by, the famous avenue of Giant Redwoods in the Younger Botanical Gardens at Benmore, the tall trees of the Ardkinglas Estate and the National Trust gardens of Crarae or taking in the rich beauty and splendour of the wonderful Argyll scenery.
Dunoon, the main town of the area, is 6 miles to the south with indoor leisure facilities, swimming pool, award-winning museum, garden centres, bird garden, pubs, coffee shops and book shop etc.
There are many places to eat out locally, country inns at Strachur, Whistlefield, Loch Eck, Ardentinny and Kilmun or perhaps enjoy the delights of the Oyster Bar at Cairndow. There are also numerous scenic barbecue and picnic locations... just bring your own... .
Just a short step from the city to the Scottish Highlands where hill, sky and sea meet in perfect harmony.
