FEOLIN FARMHOUSE

About

FEOLIN FARMHOUSE is a charming, recently renovated traditional Scottish farmhouse with its original farm buildings. It occupies a stunning secluded position above the eastern shore of the Isle of Jura, overlooking the outlying islets of Small Isles Bay, and is the perfect holiday cottage for exploring this most beautiful of Hebridean islands.

The location of this self-catering holiday cottage is outstanding, with the seashore a couple of minutes’ walk over the fields and across a small single metalled track that is the island's only road along the east coast. The village of Craighouse is only a mile away, where you will find a well stocked shop, a newly-opened bistro/restaurant, a welcoming hotel, and the distillery where the world famous Isle of Jura malt whisky is made.

Behind the holiday cottage is nothing but thousands of acres of grass and heather-covered hill over which you are free to roam, and if you are adventurous and fit enough, you can climb to the peaks of the famous mountains known as the Paps of Jura.

River, loch and sea fishing may be organized through the Forest Estate Manager by prior arrangement.

Jura is one of the more remote islands of the Inner Hebrides, and getting there is part of the adventure of a holiday in the Western Isles.  Access is via car ferry from the Isle of Islay. Those preferring to leave their car on the mainland may arrange a crossing through a private boat hire company Venture-West (www.venture-west.co.uk)
