Torrisdale Castle Estate extends to around 1,500 acres and is located on Kintyre's east coast, with fabulous views across the Kilbrannan Sound to the island of Arran. Warmed by the Gulf Stream and set within magnificent wooded grounds, Torrisdale provides an excellent base to explore a very beautiful and unspoilt part of Scotland's west coast.
The estate is home to the Macalister Hall family who have owned Torrisdale since 1890. Torrisdale Castle, built in 1815 and extended in the early 1900s, is the centrepiece of the estate and is described by many as Kintyre's finest property.
Within the ground floor of the castle, the former servants quarters, are three spacious self-catering apartments, sleeping between 4 and 6. Set within the peaceful wooded grounds are a further five superb cottages and houses, each enjoying their own private setting.
Of interest at Torrisdale is the organic tannery, specialising in natural coloured sheepskins and deer skins using an ancient tanning method to produce a superior skin.
