Oban Backpackers has a great reputation for providing some of the biggest and most comfortable hostel beds in Scotland and has a huge self catering kitchen. The hostel lounge is legendary for its sociable evenings by the pool table, or round the cosy open fire. We are barely a minute’s walk from the sea front and just a few minutes from the bus and train stations

This hostel has a huge cosy living area with a pool table around which many a triumphant Scottish battle has been won! When you happen to lose your ninth game in a row you can rest your weary heart next to the fire, and make lovely new friends who won’t laugh at your pool playing abilities.
Plenty of showers, - hot and powerful, fresh and sweet smelling bed linen, bright rooms and central heating. A laundry service at £2.50 a load, internet access, breakfast at only £1.90, FREE coffee tea and hot chocolate, a safe for valuables, towel hire for 20p, long term luggage storage - no wonder so many people love it here.
There’s lots of places to go and things to see and do in and around Oban. Ancient standing stones are to be found all over the Oban area. We’re just a few minutes from the port which is the gateway to the inner Hebrides, Iona, and Fingal’s cave. The distillery is only a few hundred yards away.
Or why not walk up to McCaig’s Tower or along to Dunollie Castle and get spiritual watching a sunset over the islands?
