McCaig’s Return (previously the Claredon Hotel) is a lively bar/hotel in the heart of Oban, a stone’s throw from the ferry, train and bus terminals. We are ideally located right next door to the VisitScotland Information Centre.
The bar is popular with both locals and visitors and features a range of live music every weekend, as well as a pool table, dart board, television and juke box.
We have 12 letting bedrooms, a mixture of single, double, twin and family, all with ensuite facilities and a complimentary tea tray. We have a breakfast room and a television lounge with books and games for those rainy days!
Rosie and Erica took over McCaig’s Return 18months ago and have completely refurbished the whole building to provide comfortable and friendly accommodation for guests.
The atmosphere in the bar is lively and welcoming and the live nusic covers a wide spectrum, appealing to all age groups.
Our leading brand in the bar is Tennents which at £2.65 per pint is very competitively priced, White & McKay is £1.50 per 25ml and bottled beers are avialble from £2.50.
We are currently in the process of installing a new kitchen which, when completed will enable us to serve bar meals daily from 12 - 8pm. We are also delighted to cater for party nights - birthdays, anniversaries, you name it, we’ll host it!!
Accommodation is available from £20 per person, per night.
