Marina

About

WICK (from the old Norse ”VIK” – a bay) lies in a strategic position on the north east tip of the mainland, and is ideally placed for passage to or from the Northern Isles and the West Coast.  We are also just a short hop away from Inverness Marina and the Caledonian Canal/West Coast or Moray Coast marinas.  The Norwegian Coast is approximately 300nm away.  Our new marina opened in 2009 and has already proved an attraction for visiting sailors, being only a five minute stroll from the town centre with plenty of shopping and leisure opportunities and renowned Caithness hospitality. Local visitor attractions such as the award winning Wick Heritage Centre, and Pulteney Distillery, producing our finest single malt whisky, are all close by.  Archaelogical heritage sites abound, and the Castle of Mey and John o’ Groats are within 20 miles.

Apart from our 70 marina berths we offer quayside berthing for vessels up to 90 metres in length and 5 metre draft.  Anchorage is available in Wick Bay.  Craneage and fuel are available at short notice, and a quayside ‘drying out’ berth is provided.  Full disabled access and a Crewlift Hoist is provided on the marina.  Toilets and showers are on site and laundry facilities are five minutes away.  Winter storage is available.   Wick Airport is just a mile from the marina, with daily flights to Aberdeen and Edinburgh.  Ancillary marine services are available by arrangement with the Harbour Master.

Wick Marina is also a member of the recently formed ‘Sail North Scotland’ group, a partner of Sail Scotland.  Come and sail 'The Viking Trail'!
