About
Orkney is home to some of the oldest and best preserved archaeological sites in the world. It is a safe and beautiful haven for wildlife with outstanding coastal scenery that has been admired by many sailors before you. The summer season is busy with festivals and sailing regattas and for those who like to dine out on local produce there is a treat in store for them. Don't miss the opportunity to try the local beers from the Orkney Brewery or savour a measure of Highland Park or Scapa whisky from the distilleries in Kirkwall. Try the local beef, pork and lamb, cheese, Orkney fudge, biscuits and ice-cream. Take home an exquisitely crafted piece of Orkney jewellery, artwork or clothing, the list goes on! Orkney is definitely worth a visit as your ultimate destination but also ideally located on route to the Scottish Mainland, the Shetland Isles and Scandinavia.
Kirkwall marina has 95 berths within the harbour and just yards from the attractions of this port. Accessible at all states of tide, this is an all year facility with excellent shelter. This is a great location on the edge of Kirkwall town with bars, restaurants, transport links, shops and tourist attractions within walking distance of the marina.
